Taman Ujung Karangasem Sukasada

Taman Ujung Karangasem was built in 1909 by I Gusti Bagus Jelantik or Gusti Bagus Djilantik who at the time served as king of Karangasem. He also has the title Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. Taman Ujung Bali was originally a Dirah pond (a dumping pond) which was built in 1901. However, the king decided to develop the Dirah pond into a park.
Reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, the architects for the construction of Taman Ujung Bali were Dutch and Chinese named van Den Hentz and Loto Ang. This construction also involved undagi (Balinese architects). In 1921, Taman Ujung Bali was completed and inaugurated in 1937. Evidence of its inauguration can be seen in the marble inscription written in Latin and Balinese script, as well as two languages, namely Malay and Balinese.
There was serious damage in Taman Ujung Bali caused by the eruption of Mount Agung. After being left for a long time, Puri Karangasem and the Karangasem Regency Government of Bali carried out renovations and restoration in 2000.
